Molecular epidemiology

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007490

The application of molecular biology techniques to epidemiological studies, investigating the interaction between genetic factors and environmental exposures in disease causation. This field examines biomarkers of exposure, susceptibility, and early biological effects to understand disease mechanisms at a molecular level. It often involves analyzing DNA adducts, protein expression, or genetic polymorphisms in human populations.
