Therapeutic cloning
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011926
A process involving the creation of a cloned embryo for the purpose of extracting embryonic stem cells, which are then used to generate tissues or organs for transplantation or disease modeling. This technique, also known as somatic cell nuclear transfer, aims to produce patient-specific cells that are genetically identical to the donor, thereby avoiding immune rejection. It does not involve implanting the embryo into a uterus.
