Photoelectrocatalysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008854
A process that combines photocatalysis and electrocatalysis, where light absorption and an applied electric potential synergistically drive a chemical reaction. This technique often uses semiconductor electrodes that are illuminated while an external bias is applied. It is employed for enhanced efficiency in reactions like water splitting and pollutant degradation.
