Photoadsorbate
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008794
A chemical species that is adsorbed onto a surface as a direct result of exposure to light or other electromagnetic radiation. The adsorption process is initiated or enhanced by the absorption of photons, which can excite the adsorbate or the surface. This phenomenon is central to photocatalysis and surface photochemistry.
