Photoinjection

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008881

The process where charge carriers are introduced into a material from an external electrode or another material upon illumination with light. This typically involves the absorption of photons at an interface, leading to the generation of electron-hole pairs, with one type of carrier subsequently injected into the material of interest. Photoinjection is a mechanism for initiating photoconductivity.
