Photoinitiator
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008880
A chemical compound that, upon absorption of light, generates reactive species such as free radicals or ions, which then initiate a polymerization or cross-linking reaction. These compounds are widely used in UV curing of coatings, inks, and adhesives. Common photoinitiators include benzophenone derivatives and acylphosphine oxides.
