Pulsed-laser polymerisation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009679

A method for determining propagation rate coefficients in free-radical polymerization by using intermittent photoinitiation. A system of monomer and photoinitiator is subjected to periodic laser pulses, creating radicals that initiate polymerization. The molar mass distribution of the resulting polymer is analyzed to extract kinetic parameters, as it contains distinct features related to the pulse frequency.
