Ultraviolet dose
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012404
The radiant exposure delivered to a surface or sample by ultraviolet radiation, equal to the UV irradiance multiplied by the exposure time. It is expressed in joules per square metre or, in practice, in millijoules per square centimetre. NSF/ANSI Standard 55 Class A point-of-use disinfection units, for example, must deliver a dose of 40 mJ/cm2.
