Areic dose
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000773
The number of energetic particles of a stated kind, such as ions or atom clusters, that enter a solid through a surface, divided by the geometric area of that surface, as in ion implantation or sputter depth profiling. It is expressed in particles per square centimetre. For a stationary parallel beam it equals the fluence multiplied by the cosine of the angle of incidence.
