Kubelka-Munk function

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006388

A mathematical function that relates the diffuse reflectance of an opaque, light-scattering material to its absorption and scattering coefficients. This function is widely used in diffuse reflectance spectroscopy to convert reflectance measurements into quantities proportional to analyte concentration. It is based on a two-flux model of light propagation within the sample.
