Transmission spectrum

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012256

A plot showing the fraction of incident electromagnetic radiation that passes through a sample as a function of wavelength or wavenumber. It reveals the wavelengths at which a substance absorbs or transmits light, providing information about its chemical composition and electronic structure. This spectrum is typically obtained using a spectrophotometer, measuring the ratio of transmitted to incident light intensity.
