Single beam spectrum

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010887

A measurement of the intensity of radiation transmitted through or reflected from a sample, recorded as a function of wavelength or wavenumber, without reference to a background or blank. This raw spectral data includes contributions from the light source, optical components, and the detector response. It is often ratioed against a background spectrum to obtain a transmittance or absorbance spectrum.
