Relaxation method
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008514
An iterative numerical technique used to solve systems of equations, particularly those arising from finite difference approximations of partial differential equations. It involves repeatedly updating approximations to the solution until a desired level of convergence is achieved. This method is applied in atmospheric modeling for solving diagnostic equations.
