Osmolality
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008347
A measure of the concentration of solute particles per unit mass of solvent, expressed in osmoles per kilogram of solvent (Osmol/kg or mOsmol/kg). It reflects the number of osmotically active particles, regardless of their chemical nature, that contribute to the osmotic pressure of a solution. This property is independent of temperature and pressure, unlike osmolarity.
