Cybotactic region
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002813
The immediate vicinity around a solute molecule in a solution, where the solvent molecules are organized in a specific, non-random arrangement due to interactions with the solute. This region differs in properties from the bulk solvent and can influence the reactivity and spectroscopic behavior of the solute. The extent and structure of this region depend on the nature of both the solute and the solvent.
