Standard electrode potential
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011288
The electromotive force of a half-cell reaction measured under standard conditions, relative to a standard hydrogen electrode. These conditions include a temperature of 298.15 K, a pressure of 1 bar for gases, and a concentration of 1 mol/L for all dissolved species. It quantifies the tendency of a species to gain or lose electrons.
