Redox potential
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010043
The electromotive force of a reversible galvanic cell in which one electrode is the standard hydrogen electrode and the other is an inert electrode immersed in the solution containing the redox couple. This potential indicates the tendency of a chemical species to gain or lose electrons. It is measured in volts (V) and is often reported relative to a standard reference electrode.
