Hydrogen gas electrode
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005470
A type of electrode that involves the equilibrium between hydrogen gas and hydrogen ions in an acidic solution, typically at a platinum surface. It serves as the standard reference electrode for measuring electrode potentials, with its standard potential defined as zero volts. The potential depends on the partial pressure of hydrogen gas and the activity of hydrogen ions.
