Standard potential of an electrode reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011301
The potential of a half-cell reaction when all species involved are in their standard states. This value represents the tendency of a redox couple to gain or lose electrons under standard conditions. It is measured relative to the standard hydrogen electrode, which is assigned a potential of 0 volts.
