Redox ion exchangers
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010040
An ion exchange resin whose counter-ions are a reversible redox couple, loaded onto the resin by adsorption or by complexation, so that it exchanges ions and also oxidizes or reduces species in the solution passing through it. Its behavior is close to that of a redox polymer, but in a redox polymer the redox groups are covalently attached to the polymer matrix and are not exchangeable counter-ions.
