Transition potential
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012236
The electrode potential reached when a redox titration arrives at its end point, where a visual redox indicator changes colour. It depends on the formal redox potential of the indicator, its total concentration (especially for one-colour indicators), the depth of the coloured layer and the smallest absorbance change the eye can detect. It is therefore not a fixed property of the titration system alone.
