Degree Celsius
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002935
A unit of Celsius temperature, equal in size to the kelvin, with Celsius temperature defined as thermodynamic temperature in kelvin minus 273.15, so 0 degrees Celsius is 273.15 kelvin. The scale was originally fixed by the freezing and boiling points of water at 0 and 100, but under the current definition water boils at about 99.97 degrees Celsius at standard atmospheric pressure.
