Specific heat capacity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011103
The amount of heat energy required to raise the temperature of a unit mass of a substance by one degree Celsius or one Kelvin. This intrinsic property reflects how much thermal energy a substance can store. The SI unit for specific heat capacity is joules per kilogram per Kelvin (J kg⁻¹ K⁻¹).
