Thermal diffusivity

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011939

A material property that quantifies the rate at which heat diffuses through it, representing how quickly temperature changes propagate. It is defined as the thermal conductivity divided by the product of density and specific heat capacity. This property is typically measured in square meters per second (m²/s).
