Specific ionization

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011104

The number of ion pairs produced by an ionizing particle per unit path length in a given medium. This value depends on the type and energy of the particle, as well as the properties of the medium. It is a measure of the ionization density along the particle's track, often expressed in ion pairs per centimeter.
