Heat
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005143
The transfer of energy between a system and its surroundings due to a temperature difference. This energy transfer occurs spontaneously from a region of higher temperature to a region of lower temperature. Heat is a path function, meaning its value depends on the specific process taken between initial and final states, and it is typically measured in joules (J).
