Heart-cut separations
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005142
A technique in chromatography where a specific fraction or 'heart' of an eluting peak, containing the analyte of interest, is diverted from the main separation column to a second column for further resolution. This allows for enhanced separation and detection of target compounds in complex mixtures. It is frequently employed in two-dimensional gas chromatography.
