Isokinetic sampling

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006704

A method of collecting a representative sample of particulate matter from a moving gas stream, where the velocity of the gas entering the sampling nozzle is matched to the velocity of the gas in the duct. This technique prevents selective collection of particles based on their inertia. It is widely used in air quality monitoring and industrial emissions testing.
