Membrane introduction mass spectrometry

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007160

An analytical technique that couples a semi-permeable membrane directly to a mass spectrometer for the continuous introduction of volatile or semi-volatile analytes from a liquid or gas sample. The membrane selectively permits the passage of target compounds into the vacuum system of the mass spectrometer, while excluding the bulk matrix. This method is particularly suited for real-time monitoring of chemical processes.
