Particle beam interface
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008501
A device used in mass spectrometry to introduce analytes from a liquid chromatograph into the high vacuum of the mass spectrometer. It involves nebulizing the liquid effluent, desolvating the resulting aerosol, and then forming a beam of analyte molecules. This interface is designed to remove solvent while transferring non-volatile analytes into the gas phase for ionization.
