Ion source
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006095
A device that generates ions for use in mass spectrometry, particle accelerators, or other applications requiring a beam of charged particles. It typically involves ionizing a gas or vaporized sample through electron impact, chemical ionization, or electrospray. The generated ions are then extracted and focused into a beam.
