Peak maximum

The point on a chromatographic or spectral peak where the signal intensity reaches its highest value. This point corresponds to the highest concentration of the analyte eluting from the column or the strongest absorption/emission of radiation. It is used to determine retention times or characteristic energies for qualitative analysis.
