Localized-itinerant transition
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006742
A phase transition in which the electronic states of a material change from being localized at specific atomic sites to becoming delocalized and able to move freely throughout the material. This transition is often driven by changes in temperature, pressure, or doping. It is observed in certain transition metal oxides and other strongly correlated electron systems.
