Crystalline state
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002761
A solid state of matter characterized by a highly ordered arrangement of molecules, atoms, or ions in a repeating three-dimensional lattice structure. This ordered arrangement results in distinct physical properties, including a sharp melting point and anisotropic behavior. X-ray diffraction is a primary technique for identifying and characterizing materials in this state.
