Crystalline
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002757
Describing a solid material in which the constituent atoms, molecules, or ions are arranged in a highly ordered, repeating three-dimensional structure. This regular arrangement gives rise to a distinct crystal lattice and often results in characteristic geometric shapes. Many pharmaceutical active ingredients exist in crystalline forms, which can influence their solubility and bioavailability.
