Partial mass density

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008493

A partial quantity, equal to the change in mass of a system when a small amount of a component is added divided by the resulting change in volume, at constant temperature, pressure and amounts of the other components. Its SI unit is kg/m3, and it is the reciprocal of the partial specific volume. It generally differs from the mass concentration, which is simply the mass of the component divided by the volume of the mixture.
