Number concentration

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008156

The number of specified entities of a constituent divided by the volume of the mixture. This quantity, also known as number density, expresses how many individual particles (such as molecules, atoms, or ions) are present per unit volume. The coherent SI unit for number concentration is reciprocal cubic metres (m⁻³), although other units like cm⁻³ are also used.
