Mass concentration

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006973

The mass of a constituent substance divided by the total volume of the mixture containing that constituent. This quantity provides a measure of the composition of a solution, suspension, or other mixture. Mass concentration is commonly denoted by the Greek letter rho (ρ) or gamma (γ) and is expressed in units of mass per unit volume, such as kilograms per cubic meter (kg/m³) or grams per liter (g/L).
