Particle density

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008502

The number of particles, such as nuclei or elementary particles, divided by the volume that contains them, a number density expressed in particles per unit volume. In materials and powder work the same name denotes the mass of a single particle divided by its volume, excluding the voids between particles, which is distinct from bulk density.
