Ideal mixture

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005574

A mixture of substances where the enthalpy of mixing is zero, and the volume change upon mixing is also zero. In such a mixture, the activity of each component is equal to its mole fraction, meaning each component obeys Raoult's law over the entire composition range. This behavior is approximated by mixtures of chemically similar compounds.
