Mixing ratio
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007433
A measure of the concentration of a component within a mixture, defined as the ratio of the mass of a specific component to the mass of the dry air in a given volume. For atmospheric gases, it is often expressed in units such as parts per million by volume (ppmv) or parts per billion by volume (ppbv). This ratio is conserved during adiabatic processes.
