Mixing height

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007432

The vertical extent of the atmosphere near the Earth's surface within which pollutants and other atmospheric constituents are dispersed by turbulent mixing. This height is determined by the stability of the atmosphere and the presence of temperature inversions. A lower mixing height can lead to higher concentrations of air pollutants.
