Solvent volume fraction

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011034

The share of one solvent in a solvent mixture when the solutes are left out of the count, found by dividing that solvent's volume fraction by the combined volume fractions of all solvent components. For acetonitrile and water mixed 60 to 40 by volume, the value for acetonitrile is 0.6 whatever amount of solute is dissolved.
