Angle strain
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000601
The increase in potential energy of a molecule due to bond angles deviating from their ideal values. This deviation arises from the geometric constraints of cyclic structures or highly branched systems. It contributes to the overall strain energy of a molecule, influencing its stability and reactivity.
