Ångström

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000602

A non-SI unit of length used to express atomic and molecular dimensions, chemical bond lengths, and wavelengths of X-rays. It is defined as exactly 10⁻¹⁰ meters, which is equivalent to 0.1 nanometers or 100 picometers. Although its use is deprecated in favor of the nanometer (nm), the ångström (Å) remains prevalent in crystallography and spectroscopy.
