A unit of length equal to 10⁻¹⁰ meters, or 0.1 nanometers. It is commonly used in atmospheric science to express the wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation, particularly in the ultraviolet, visible, and X-ray portions of the spectrum. For example, visible light ranges from approximately 4000 to 7000 angstroms.
