Ångström turbidity coefficient

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003511

A parameter that quantifies the atmospheric turbidity, or the reduction in solar radiation due to scattering and absorption by aerosols. It is derived from measurements of direct solar radiation at different wavelengths and is related to the aerosol optical depth. This coefficient provides insight into the aerosol loading of the atmosphere.
