Volz turbidity factor
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010055
A dimensionless quantity that characterizes the atmospheric turbidity, or the reduction in solar radiation due to scattering and absorption by aerosols and water vapor. It represents the ratio of the actual optical depth of the atmosphere to the optical depth of a clean, dry atmosphere. A value of 1 indicates a perfectly clear atmosphere, while higher values denote increased turbidity.
