Linke turbidity factor
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006990
A dimensionless parameter that quantifies the atmospheric turbidity, representing the ratio of the actual optical thickness of the atmosphere to the optical thickness of a pure, dry Rayleigh atmosphere at a given air mass. It accounts for the attenuation of solar radiation by aerosols and water vapor. A value of 1 indicates a perfectly clear, dry atmosphere, while higher values signify increased turbidity.
