Angle resolved mass spectrometry

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000600

A tandem mass spectrometry technique for studying the collisional excitation step, in which the angle through which the precursor ion is deflected after meeting a target gas is related to the internal energy it picks up and to the masses of the ion and of the collision partner. Fragmentation recorded at different deflection angles shows how much internal energy was deposited.
